Fortescue Metals Group (Fortescue) expanded its operations in the Pilbara through the development of new mines within the Solomon Hub, constructing a new rail spur to the Solomon Mine and upgrading its existing rail mainline from Port Hedland to Christmas Creek

This project covered the rail formation earthworks for Fortescue’s Solomon Spur Project. The construction of 28.4 kilometres of rail earthworks was required which included; bulk earthworks (including drill and blast operations), installation of 4 kilometres of CSP culverts, construction of road crossings, signal pads, turnout pads and the re-construction of 1 kilometre of the existing Roebourne to Wittenoom road.
